Star Wars Party

The library had a Star Wars Party one Saturday, so we went. They had Star Wars Playing and lots of crafts the kids could do.  They also had punch, light saber pretzels, and star wars gummy treats.  Then Darth Vader and came and the kids got their picture taken with him.  Preston was scarred at first but then was ok with him after awhile.  Now Preston is in love with Darth Vader and Star Wars, even though he has never seen one of the movies.

Fall Soccer

Preston was the only one that wanted to play Fall Soccer this year.  Garland City started their own league at the park this year.  Darren Knudsen was his coach, they had 4 boys and 1 girl.  Preston did great for his first year and caught on to the concept pretty fast, he doesn't quite get the concept of a "team" but none of them did.  There were usually only 4 kids that showed up to the games, so Preston and Brady got quite a bit of playing time, they were to only 2 kids that really wanted to play.  The other kids you had to coax a bit to get them to stay in the game.  I'm excited to see how he does in the Spring.

Hogle Zoo

We made our annual trip to Hogle Zoo, as you can see below we had some Crazies with us.  It was really hot, so we decided to maybe go over Fall break next time instead of Labor Day Weekend.  This year they had lego displays of different animals through out the zoo.

Build and Grow Workshop

I signed the kids up for a free workshop at Lowes.  They got to go and make a Dusty the Airplane from the Disney movie Planes.  Cousins Hudson and Reggie came with us.  They had fun and can't wait to go again.

First Day of School 2013

Sydney and Shelby's first day of school.
Sydney is in fourth grade and has Mrs. Roche
Shelby is in first grade and has Miss. Crawford and Mrs. Abad.  She was accepted into the Spanish Dual Immersion program that goes from 1-5 grades.  This is the first year that it is taught at Garland Elementary.  She is very excited, her best friend Kylee is in her class.

Dancing in the Parade

Both the girls got to be in the Fair parade this year.  Sydney danced and Shelby cheered.  Then we headed to the fair and rode rides for family night and had a fair burger.

Grandma Munns' 90th Birthday

We celebrated my Grandma's 90th Birthday in August.  It was also the same weekend as Garland's Wheat and Beat days so we had plenty of things to do and have fun.  We had it at the Tremonton Library Park where they just opened a splash pad the week before.  We invited friends and distant family to stop by and visit with grandma, it was nice to see family form all sides show up.  I love my Grandma so much and remember always going to her house on holidays to play with cousins and eat.  She always made the best ham and homemade rolls.
Me and the kids with Grandma Munns.
My mom's cousin let us borrow his bounce house and extra large slip-n-slide.  The kids loved it and played none stop on them all day.

My cousins daughter, Regean, made cupcakes and shaped them into a 90, they were VERY good.
My brother Darin and his girlfriend, Jenny.
Preston going down the slip n slide
Sydney going down on her back.  I guess she thought she would go faster.
Shelby not quite making it all the way down.  Later that night we all met at the Garland Park for the fireworks.  It was a great day to celebrate a wonderful woman, who had a hand in raising me and my cousins.  We have a great family.

Summer Ball

We spent a lot of time at the ball park this Summer.  Garland City started their own league this year and had all the games at the same park, it was really nice to be able to go to one place, especially when all the kids were playing at the same time.  Sydney played machine pitch co-ed baseball and did really well.  She played short stop and 3rd base most of the time.  Her coach was great and had regular practices.

Shelby and Preston played t-ball on the same team, which helped so we didn't have to be to 3 games.
 Sydney at her first game.
Shelby and Preston before their first game.

Shelby and Preston's team got first place for getting the most outs in the season.

Sydney's league played a one day tournament at the end of their season, the ended up taking 3rd place out of 7 teams.
