Sydney's 10th Birthday

Sydney turned 10 in January, and the only thing she wanted was an American Girl Doll.  She has wanted one for over a year now, so we finally broke down and bought one from her for her birthday present from us.  She got the girl of the year, Saige.  She also got a pair of new boots because she had out grown her other ones.  She got to pick them out and picked Zebra print, which were the pair that I was wanting for myself.  Too bad we don't ware the same size of shoes.

Sydney is such a great person, she is a social bug and is friends with everyone.  Always including everyone.  She loves little kids and will be a great babysitter when she is older.  She is a wonderful student and loves school (not so much the homework though).  She is learning piano and does great at it.  I hope she sticks with it.

She picked out a Tropical cake for her Winter Birthday.  I told her maybe some day we will be in Hawaii for her birthday (probably when she is married and can pay her own way)

Christmas 2013

This year for the first in that I can remember, we didn't meet with all of my mom's family.  We spent it at my mom's with just us, Len,  and Kristy and Addie.  My mom gave the kids their annual Christmas PJs before we went home.  Christmas morning we woke up about 7:30 and did Christmas at our house, we then went up to Grandma Sue's for breakfast and presents.  After we went to Shaun's Grandma Betty's for the annual Wilkinson party and then finished out the day at Grandma Bev's and Grandpa Scott's for more presents, food,  fun, and relaxing.

Nutcracker

We did our Annual trip to the children's production of The Nutcracker in Logan this year on Thanksgiving weekend.  There was 30 of us that went this year.  It keeps getting bigger and bigger.  Afterwards we went to Chili's for dinner.  The kids loved it and even though Preston is always the only boy out of 30, it didn't bother him a bit.

Halloween

Halloween is probably my least favorite holiday so I don't get too much into it.  Sydney was an Egyptian, Shelby was a pumpkin, and Preston was Bumble Bee the Transformer.  For some reason I don't have a picture of him, I don't know what happened.  I took them to neighbors' houses then we went to Grandma Munns' and my aunts' house, after they wanted to go to the Dansie's to see their Halloween display and I let them do some trick or treating in their neighborhood since it was our ward.  That is the most they have ever gone, which was enough for me.

Shelby's Field Trip

Shelby's 1st grade class went to the Logan Pumpkin Walk for their field trip this year.  It was a beautiful crisp Fall day.  After they walked through we went to Providence to Ryan's Place Park for lunch and to let the kids play on the wonderful playground there.

Fall Pictures

Every Fall I take the kids somewhere and take their pictures.  This year we went up Green Canyon on our way to Shaun's Grandma's 80th birthday party in North Logan.  They turned out pretty good for me not being a professional and only having a little point and shoot camera.  Plus, for my kids being older you would think they would be pretty good at getting their picture taken, WRONG!  I think it was easier when they were smaller, between the pushing and not wanting to be by eachother and complaining that the sun was in their eyes, I got a few good ones.

Star Wars Party

The library had a Star Wars Party one Saturday, so we went. They had Star Wars Playing and lots of crafts the kids could do.  They also had punch, light saber pretzels, and star wars gummy treats.  Then Darth Vader and came and the kids got their picture taken with him.  Preston was scarred at first but then was ok with him after awhile.  Now Preston is in love with Darth Vader and Star Wars, even though he has never seen one of the movies.

Fall Soccer

Preston was the only one that wanted to play Fall Soccer this year.  Garland City started their own league at the park this year.  Darren Knudsen was his coach, they had 4 boys and 1 girl.  Preston did great for his first year and caught on to the concept pretty fast, he doesn't quite get the concept of a "team" but none of them did.  There were usually only 4 kids that showed up to the games, so Preston and Brady got quite a bit of playing time, they were to only 2 kids that really wanted to play.  The other kids you had to coax a bit to get them to stay in the game.  I'm excited to see how he does in the Spring.
