Between the fields where the flag is planted, there are 9+ miles of flower fields that go all the way to the ocean. The flowers are grown by seed companies. It's a beautiful place, close to Vandenberg AFB. Check out the dimensions of the flag.
The 2002 Floral Flag is 740 feet long and 390 feet wide and maintains the proper Flag dimensions, as described in Executive Order #10834. This Flag is 6.65 acres and is the first Floral Flag to be planted with 5 pointed Stars, comprised of White Larkspur. Each Star is 24 feet in diameter; each Stripe is 30 feet wide. This Flag is estimated to contain more than 400,000 Larkspur plants, with 4-5 flower stems each, for a total of more than 2 million flowers.

Our Freedom's

Someone sent me this link awhile ago and I have kept it because I think it is so good. It reminds me of all the men and women who fought for my country to make it free and keep it free. Please click on it and read/listen to it.

I am so thankful that I was raised with patriotism and I am trying my best to raise my daughters with patriotism. I am thankful for my grandpa Munns who fought in WWII. I love WWII history and the courageous stories I hear and read. I do not know if I could do what a lot of them did. I guess we all would if we were put in a situation.

I think of the story about a soilder who was a Prisoner or War (POW) and he has sewn an American Flag on the inside of his shirt. Everyday the soliders would say the Pledge of Allegence to that Flag. One day he the enemy found the Flag on the inside of his shirt and they riped it out and beat him. The next day he was in the corner sewing another Flag in his shirt with a swollen eye. This soldier that told the story said that is how they survived to the end, because of that mans patriotism and knowing what they were doing was right.

Please support our Flag, Country, Military, and President and not disrespect them. Have a great 4th of July!!

Shelby

The girls got this sprinkler for the summer and Sydney is too chicken to run through because she says the water is too cold. Shelby loves it and just walks up to it and plays in it.

She has another tooth coming in on the bottom next to her front tooth. She loves to play with the babies by holding them and bouncing them and telling them SSSHHH SSSHHH it is really cute to watch.

Sydney at the Queen Contest & Dance Review

Last Thursday night Sydney tried out for the Box Elder Co. Mini Miss Queen. The age group is 6 and under. This was her first year and she did really well. Everyone got a rose, a bag of goodies and a banner. Her banner said Miss Horsemanship. Well, riding her horse was what she scored lowest on. They just made up a lot of banners and past them out, but Sydney was excited and she wants to do it next year. We will work on her horsemanship better for next year. There was 30 girls in her age group
She just couldn't get Ruby to go exactly where she wanted her to and she couldn't keep her trotting. O well at least she had fun. We didn't get home until almost midnight that night.

Here personality, modeling, and test she scored really well on. We are very proud of her.

At the end of May Sydney had her dance review and did really well. After I asked her if she wanted to take dance next year and she said "Yes, and I want to do the dance review every day". She did her ballet dance to Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and her tap to I've Lost My Dancing Shoes.
